FOR SURVIVORS AND WITH SURVIVORS

Global Survivors Fund (GSF) was founded in October 2019 by Dr. Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad, laureates of the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize. Its mission is to increase access to reparations for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence worldwide, thereby addressing a gap long identified by survivors. The GSF acts to provide temporary remedial measures in situations where states or other parties are unable or unwilling to fulfill their obligations. The GSF advocates for duty-bearers as well as the international community to develop reparations programs, and guides States and civil society by providing expert and technical support for the development of reparations programs. GSF's survivor-centered approach is an important part of its work.
