MIHR (Media Initiatibe for Human Rights)and victims of Russian war crimes testify in Warsaw

On September 18, 2023, Iryna Dovhan, Head of the NGO SEMA Ukraine, took part in a conference dedicated to the testimonies of victims of Russian war crimes. The event was held at the Pilecki Institute on the initiative of the Rafał Lemkin Center for Documentation of Russian Crimes in Ukraine in Warsaw. They discussed war crimes committed during the Russian armed aggression. In particular, the detention of civilian hostages.
Russia denies holding civilian hostages, hiding them in detention centers and colonies in the occupied territory of Ukraine and in Russia itself. This was stated by Tetiana Katrychenko, Executive Director of the MIHR.
In particular, former hostage Iryna Dovhan, who was held by the occupiers for five days, said that the practice of abducting civilians began in 2014.
