On March, 4 2023 in Lviv, two members of the NGO "SEMA UKRAINE", with the assistance of UN Women, took part in a
a meeting of UN agencies with partner civil society organizations.
The conference was attended by Pramila Patten,
Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General

on Sexual Violence in Conflict (CRSV).
The morning session was attended by service providers for victims - NGOs: "La Strada, Yurfem, Successful Woman, Women's Perspectives, Smile UA, DOM 48.24, Nehemiah;
partner organizations,
as well as the Heads of UN agencies working in Ukraine (UN Women, UNFPA).

In their speeches, the women of SEMA UKRAINE spoke about their organization and the problems faced by the victims of CRSV. They conveyed to the Heads of UN agencies their vision of the problems from the perspective of two categories of women victims, namely civilians who suffered in the occupied territories of eastern Ukraine, being held captive by the Russian military and their mercenaries in the so-called "LDPR" before the full-scale invasion,
and those who survived the CRSV during the occupation of Ukrainian territories by Russia after February 24, 2022.
The testimonies of our women at the international level are extremely important in order to hold the Russians accountable for all their crimes. The abduction of our children, their forced re-education, the prohibition to speak their native language and call themselves Ukrainians are crimes that cannot be justified. Other atrocities committed by the Russians are also inexcusable: war and sexual crimes, murder and robbery of civilians, crimes against the environment.
During their speeches, the participants were guided by a common goal
to inform the international community and our governmental bodies as much as possible about the problems faced by women after being traumatized by CRSV.
