Return civilian prisoners from russia and the occupied territories: support action on Indepedence Square
On October, 17, 2023 an action was held in support of civilian prisoners. Relatives of those who were captured by the russians from various temporarily occupied cities and villages of Ukraine gathered on Independence Square in Kyiv. The event was organized by women who themselves went through pro-Russian torture camps in Donetsk. They say that it is unknown how many Ukrainian civilians the occupiers keep in their prisons. However, they are certain that this number definitely has three zeros. The organizers of the action collected signatures for an appeal to the President of Ukraine. They demand that the authorities create registers of civilian prisoners in russia and in the temporarily occupied territories, as well as a mechanism by which prisoners could be released.
