Iryna Dovgan and Liudmyla Huseinova participated in a meeting of journalists with the Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine
Matsuda Kuninori, which took place at the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).
In his speech, the Ambassador said:
"The Japanese government supports Ukraine, provides all possible assistance, including weapons. For the first time in history, Japan has opened its doors to internally displaced persons as a result of Russia's armed aggression. The war is also taking place in the media space. Therefore, it is necessary to convey truthful information, which we all have to do. Thanks to the work of Ukrainian journalists, citizens know where and how international assistance is provided. Japan has decided to join the work of UNESCO.
The government and people of Japan are ready to continue supporting Ukraine and journalists."
The Head of the UNESCO Office in Kyiv, Ms. Chiara Dezzi Barbescfi, also emphasized the need to help communities and citizens of Ukraine and expressed her gratitude to Mr. Ambassador for UNESCO's assistance.
The event was attended by journalists from many regions of Ukraine. Communication with them allows us to tell about
about the NGO "SEMA Ukraine", draw attention to women who have survived the horrors of occupation and captivity, who have suffered from violence,
but are afraid to talk about it. One of the important tasks for Sema Ukraine is to find and support such women.
After the meeting with journalists, Iryna and Liudmyla had the opportunity to talk to Mr. Ambassador of Japan,
and arranged a meeting at the embassy.
